Woods 2 Water
Woods 2 Water, our water collaboration is back, bringing together a wonderful
range of outdoor learning experiences from land to water for young people.
The first part of each session will be in the SWS woods were children will make:
fires and cooking; nautical rope work.; rafts and ladders; and enjoy lots of free play.

The second part of the sessions will be in the Back Avenue at the Garvogue River. All equipment will be provided including wetsuits, watercraft and snorkeling gear.
Any water activity in Sligo requires a warm wetsuit whether in the ocean or local lakes. This is particularly true up to July when the temperatures are still low. This means the young ones feel safe and can enjoying themselves. It is also an extra layer of protection to minimise the risk of scrapes and bumps.
Therefore, it is really helpful to know if the participants have their own wetsuits. It needs to be a full length wetsuit, ideally 5mm which is pretty standard for Ireland.
Could you please let us know if you have a wetsuit for your child when booking them in.
All children attending the sessions will be given numerous opportunities to
explore both spaces of woods and water.
