Birthday Parties at Sligo Woodland School
Celebrate your child’s birthday outdoors in the woodland. Our birthday parties are friendly, active and full of energy. Children can run, explore, play games, make things, and enjoy time around the campfire.
What happens at the party
Each party lasts 2 hours.
Activities may include:
- treasure hunt
- den building
- rope swings
- nature crafts
- forest art
- simple bushcraft activities
- campfire and s’mores
We can choose activities to suit your child’s interests.
Party themes
You can choose one of these themes:
Fairies in the Forest
Fairy trails, woodland magic and nature crafts.
Survival and S’mores
Simple survival skills and a campfire treat.
Forest Art
Creative activities using natural materials.
Bushcraft
Den building, shelter making and woodland skills.
Times
Birthday parties usually run at:
11am to 1pm
or
2pm to 4pm
Price
The cost is €15 per child.
There is a minimum charge of €180 per party.
A €50 deposit is needed to book.
Please do not pay the deposit until we have confirmed your date.
Food and drink
We provide:
- drinks
- fruit
- s’mores at the campfire
You can also bring:
- birthday cake
- pizza
- sandwiches
- buns
- preferred snacks
Please tell us about allergies or food needs before the party.
Adults staying
For children over 4, the birthday child’s parents usually stay.
Other parents do not need to stay if their child is happy and comfortable.
Some children may need an adult to stay with them. This can include children with medical, sensory, communication or behavioural support needs.
That is completely okay. Please let us know what support your child needs.
What to wear
Children need clothes for outdoor play.
Please bring:
- wellies
- waterproof coat
- waterproof trousers
- warm clothes
- hat and gloves in cold weather
We have waterproof trousers for children aged 3 to 8 if needed.
Weather
Parties usually go ahead in rain or snow.
We may need to reschedule if there are:
- high winds over 30 km/h
- thunderstorms
- unsafe weather conditions
Sensory information
The party takes place outdoors.
There may be:
- mud
- uneven ground
- rain
- wind
- smoke from the campfire
- loud excitement from other children
- changes in temperature
Children can take breaks if they need to.
Please tell us in advance if your child would benefit from a quieter space, extra preparation, or a clear plan for the day.
